Meet Sable

A keen eye for corners

Sable is a navy-black raven with a strong grey beak, round amber eyes and a short crest of feathers at the back of his head. A pale mint shield marks his chest and a mint band crosses each wing. He is one of Tempo Line’s fliers: he glides rather than runs, low over the path like Hoot the owl.

In Tempo Line

How Sable flies the line

Sable glides low on swept wings. He rises and dips in a slow swell that touches bottom on the beat, with one deliberate wingbeat every two beats. At each corner his head turns first and his body banks after it. At Presto speed he leans further and sweeps his wings back.

At the finish he lands, folds his wings along his sides and jumps for joy with a whole turn.

In Tempo Line, wings are no advantage: Sable is as wide on the path as everyone else, so no character is easier to play.
